Recovery Supreme Shake

When you push through a tough workout, your muscles are constantly challenged, and their fibres begin to break down and sustain damage. The process of repairing and rebuilding those fibre, called muscle protein synthesis, uses amino acids from protein to encourage healthy recovery and muscular growth. Although any nutritious source of protein will help the process along, there are a few distinct advantages to drinking protein shakes after exercise.

Renowned fitness expert Ben Siong, one of Australia’s leading body composition specialists and the founder of Australian Strength Performance; shares with us his favourite recovery smoothie shake.


450ml almond milk
1 handful of ice cubes
1 scoop of protein powder
1 scoop of wellness greens
1 banana
1 tbsp of frozen berries
1 pinch of sea salt
1 tbsp of almonds


Blend ingredients together until smooth using your high powered Spectablend blender. Serve and enjoy!
